Obesity and diabetes are two of the most impactful health issues in the world. In fact, the American Diabetes Association finds that nearly 2 out of 3 American adults face one of these two issues, which is easily translated to the rest of the world similarly. Obesity can be derived through many factors, some being physical inactivity, dietary patterns, and medication use. A failure to treat your body with proper nourishment can lead to obesity, which translates into conditions such as diabetes. These issues are serious because they are associated to poorer mental health stability and overall, a reduced quality of life. Unfortunately, a lack of focus on changing these daily habits is the reason why 300,000 Americans die to obesity issues, when they can be fixed, even through it may be difficult. Engaging in exercise through mediums such as martial arts can transform our bodies. Martial arts and fitness provide highly vigorous exercise, while focusing on self-improvement, disciple, and approaching obstacles through a positive mindset. Martial arts and fitness is also key to improve empowerment over one's life, and give them self-confidence. Suicide is a mental health problem that plagues communities throughout the world. As our world modernizes towards more technology, promotes more competitive environments, and falls short of dealing with discrimination of different sorts, suicide is bound to be an issue. Competitive environments foster exclusion and one feeling self-pressure to try to perform at a higher level. Failure to deal with discrimination leads margalized folx being harmed, mocked, and offended in ways that shouldn't happen. All of these factors can lead to one losing their self-confidence, which affects their lives in many aspects. In order to avoid such mental instability, exercise is a life-savor. A Walden University Scholarly Work finds that Martial Arts gives students and instructors their own space to leave their worries out the door and help improve themselves. Learning discipline, self-control are key to strengthen the mind from all the mental setbacks one might face in life. Exercise is clinically proven to relieve stress and give self-confidence.
Assault and bullying are factors that our communities fail to overcome. Unfortunately, every 73 seconds, another person gets assaulted. Resolving social issues that come from a person's people's mindset can be difficult, but addressing that mode of thinking isn't quite as hard. All types of victimization can be a mode of disrespect towards the victim. Urging ourselves to try to be the better person can keep us from becoming a bully or worse. Releasing the monsters of stress, anger, and anxiety can help ensure that we don't inflict pain onto others, but also ensures that we are prepared to help others overcome these instances. That all starts with a strong mindset developed through martial arts and fitness! The University of Wisconsin finds that exercise, specifically martial arts, provides these spaces of care, rehabilitation, and mental fortitude. By engaging in challenging exercise, we release stress. Engaging with the body to develop discipline, control, and self-intuition through techniques helps us combat bullying, assault, and abuse outside of the classroom. That enables us better advocates to teach other people around us to do the same so that we can all together work to reduce these forms of victimization.
