HEARO (Health Educators & Advocates Reaching Out) is a student-led initiative that aims to promote holistic health and wellness and STEAM opportunities to empower students and underrepresented communities of color. HEARO also promotes virtual shadowing, free self-care and fitness workshops, and volunteering/leadership opportunities!
Dancing with a Purpose's mission is to be a positive creative outlet during the pandemic and a fun way to get exercise while stuck in quarantine! We dance with a purpose because all proceeds made through workshop donations go straight to causes such as the BLM movement, etc.
At CoviTrain, their mission is to help connect athletes to coaches. They are aware that from the COVID-19 pandemic, many coaches now find themselves unemployed and that social distancing has made it difficult for most people to stay active and fit. Their goal is to help bring these two parties together so that they can help each other through this trying time. Coaches can begin and continue to teach virtually and students can stay fit. At CoviTrain, they believe that we can get through enforced isolation together, one squat at a time!
Fit 4 A Cure is a student-led organization that aims to promote health through free fitness/dance lessons. Especially during a pandemic, it is very important to stay active and their lessons help to accomplish that. They are raising money for a non-profit organization called Project CURE that provides medical supplies to 3rd world countries. They believe that everyone should have access to adequate healthcare and that we all deserve to stay healthy pandemic or no pandemic.
Health, Help, and Happiness is an organization led by high school students located in the Bay Area. They are committed to working towards aiding the community by alleviating the problems that come with COVID 19. HHH donates to smaller, local businesses, and provides online tutoring aid to young students. They plan to continue to branch out and offer our services to more people as the organization grows, and look forward to making a beneficial impact on others.
Forever Coders is an organization which teaches coding to 4-8th graders from nearby schools. They teach a variety of coding languages such as Java, Python, and C, and they also teach computer science concepts as well. They make sure their students are empowered in their learning while also giving them an enjoyable experience as well. Perspicacity is a non-profit blog started by two University students from Oakville, Ontario, Canada. The purpose of this blog to share the perspectives of various residents in North America on how they are impacted by COVID-19. They have written a blog about Fit4Grit Academy and the work that we do.
QuickMatch is dedicated to helping high school students find meaningful opportunities that they are passionate about. They have aggregated internships, volunteer positions (like at Fit4Grit), and tips on professional development to help high schoolers. All of the opportunities offered are completely remote and doable right from home.
